There are a few things you can do to help the conversation go smoothly. Pick a quiet moment among the festivities. Consider who will be part of the conversation. You may choose to speak to one parent or to both. Limit yourself to one topic such as health issues or legal matters. You will not be able to cover everything that needs to be addressed in one conversation. The important thing is to start the conversation and not to wait for the perfect moment that may never arrive.
