Talk: When a Personal Emergency Strikes, Will You Be Prepared?
Amy Praskac gives a brief talk titled When a Personal Emergency Strikes, Will You Be Prepared? She tells stories along with lessons to be learned, shares observations from her organizing practice, and distributes a brief quiz to help you assess where you stand. Amy has spoken to a variety of audiences that include faculty and staff at UT, cancer support groups, church groups, civic groups, and professional associations. Ideal length for a luncheon speaker.
After I heard Amy speak, I was motivated to finally make sure that I had all my things in order. That included updating my will, advanced directives, and powers of attorney. It also meant having some serious conversations with my family and friends to make sure my end of life wishes were understood. And finally I spent some time organizing my financial documents and related information so that nothing would be overlooked should I not be around to remember what investment accounts and types of insurance I have. I feel much more organized and peaceful as a result. And as a bonus, it's made things a lot easier for me to keep track of while I'm still here! Kerstin professional at work and single mom at home
Amy, Thank you so much for coming out to talk to us. I am now motivated to get my notebook filled out and am trying to figure out how to ask those difficult questions of my family. It was definitely a real eye opener. I loved the stories that you shared and I think that they really help people to visualize the potential for their situation to make up such a story. I will keep your contact information in my contacts file so that I can bring you back out again some time. Melissa HR Manager at local engineering firm
